The 160 year old company, which specializes in raising and shoring houses, remains a solid, stable and firmly planted fixture in the construction industry. The second oldest company in the city of New Orleans, Abry Brothers had its humble beginning in 1840 when John G. Abry, a skilled shorer, arrived in New Orleans from Frankfurt, Germany. Realizing he had a niche in the construction market due to the unstable delta soil which is characteristic of the area, Abry purchased a lot at 816- 818 North Johnson Street and set up shop. The company credits its success to its long tradition of customer satisfaction. "When we go out to look at a job, we identify the problem, develop a solution and implement a plan of repair," says Abry. Abry Brothers is licensed by the State of Louisiana and is a member of the American Industry of Structural Movers and the Better Business Bureau.
